Training
Potty Training
We introduce potty training with our puppies around 3 weeks old. We create a separate potty area starting in the whelping box for them to go to. By giving them this separate space they learn the importance to go to a designated spot to potty. It is important to understand that they are still puppies and are NOT going to go home fully potty trained. Any time you change a puppies environment, accidents should be expected. They will also still have accidents in the house without continuous training and positive reinforcement.
Crate Training
We begin crate training with our puppies because it helps assist with potty training as well as creating a safe and comfortable space. We begin crate training by covering their crates, giving them a snuggle puppy to sleep with and
play soft music. I highly recommend purchasing a snuggle puppy to help your pup transition to being alone. It is important to understand that they are NOT going to be perfect in the crate.
They’re in a brand new environment. The first few nights away from their littermates can still be a bit difficult for them as they adjust.
Leash Training
We introduce all of our puppies to leash training. It is important to understand that they will NOT go home fully leash trained. The purpose of starting it early is to create a foundation. This early training will help you in training your new puppy to walk proper on the leash and not to pull.
